Worldly Scholars is a boutique education provider, offering families educational services that include small-group classes and private tutoring. Founded by a married couple with close to thirty years of combined experience in the education sector, we are excited to provide families with a unique brand of supplemental education services that is focussed on quality above all else.
SMALL-GROUP COURSES
Semester Courses provide students with ongoing supplemental education opportunities throughout the school year. These instructor-designed courses cover a range of interesting content and focus on the development of critically important skills such as close reading, discussion and writing.
INDIVIDUALIZED TUTORING AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
In addition to small-group classes, Worldly Scholars offers a wide array of educational services. These services include 1:1 tutoring, academic editing and education consulting. These offerings are individualized in nature and involve consultations to jointly set expectations, schedules, etc.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy of education is rooted in the idea that children have a tremendous ability to learn, comprehend and analyze topics that educators traditionally believe to be out of intellectual reach. We also view all subjects as interdisciplinary in nature, and believe it is essential to work with students to understand the connections between seemingly disparate components of the world. Lastly, no matter the subject being studied, we emphasize the improvement of writing as we consider it essential for success in university and beyond.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to cultivate true Worldly Scholars, students who embody our belief in the benefits of a holistic understanding of the world. A Worldly Scholar is someone who is knowledgeable about not just a single discipline, but about how these disciplines can be used to understand a complex whole. It is therefore our aim to equip students to be able to excel across disciplines and illustrate understanding in multiple ways.
